Tourism
The west of Scotland is a treasure trove of things to do.
Touristy, Sporty, Arty Farty, Hungry... It's all there and the beauty of it is it's all so close together.
So whether you have hired, borrowed, stolen(?) a car or hopped in a bus or taxi you won't have far to go.
But remember children - don't drink and drive and carry a BIG umbrella !
Things to do:

Accomodation
Ayr and Ayrshire host an abundance of accomodation, however we have chosed two of our favourite local hotels for recommendation.
Depending on your travel arrangements, length of stay, family, leisure requirements, etc. you may find these unsuitable so the additional links may prove useful in finding an alternative.
The hotel is situated in the historic and beautiful town of Alloway. Birthplace and childhood home of Scotland's most famous poet Robert Burns.
It overlooks "Tam's Brig" where poor Tam O'Shanter and his grey mare Meg fled an unholy cast of warlocks and witches. Tam had lingered long in the pub on market day and on his journey home had a narrow escape. He crossed the keystone of the brig and left behind the hellish hourd who would not cross running water. Poor Meg was left with just a stump of a tail as a constant reminder to Tam of the dangers of alcohol when consumed aplenty. But don't let that stop you on your visit!
